Preparation for prayer: We are under a new covenant with Christ. Meditate on his Word. Focus on his love and finished work. He offers us forgiveness and grace. But, more importantly, new life!

Father, I thank you that your ways are of rest. I need to learn to wait for you, trust in you and allow your work to succeed in my life, relationships and work. I want you to direct my path but I am  impulsive. Help me to wait as you work in my life. Your word directs me to your path, brings life to my spirit and provides food for my soul. Let me find rest in you. Amen.

Scripture: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 NKJV

Take one verse and meditate on Jesus’ love for you and God’s provision for your life. We are spiritually strengthened and nourished as meditate on God’s word. God speaks to us in Psalm 46:10 ‘Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth.’ God can direct our steps and lead us in directions that we might never take but reveal his plan and vision for our lives. God blesses us in ways we do not understand or deserve. Be open to how God can and will bless you. It’s his promise and it’s in his word.

As you pray: Meditate on the scripture provided or one of your own. Allow your imagination to be guided by Christ. Listen to words, promptings or impressions that you may hear. Sometimes we forget the prayer is both speaking and listening. Pray for Wheatland and our vision. Pray also for Wheatland’s leaders-that they may listen and act on God’s authority and direction.
