The Faith

This is a great follow-on, video supported study for those who have taken Alpha and want to further peel the onion of Christian belief and practical living. The book used, written by Charles Colson and Harold Fickett, is hardhitting, clear-thinking, action-producing and packed with compelling stories. Expect lively and productive discussion.

God Heard Their Cry
January 10—February 7, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
This “Faith Lessons with Ray Vander Laan” small group DVD-based study will explore how God answered the cry of the enslaved people of Israel after 400 years in Egypt and revealed himself as Lord to them and their oppressors. Filmed on location in Egypt, from Luxor to the Red Sea. No book is required.
Decisions: Finding God's Will
February 14—March 21, 11 a.m.—12 p.m.
Facing a big decision? From job changes to marriage to buying a house, this study will give us the biblical grounding that we need to discover what God has in store for us. The principles will guide participants through a lifetime of decision making.

Partnering Parents - Confirming Faith
January 17—March 28, 11 a.m.—12 p.m.
Parents of middle school students are invited to join Partnering Parents, which will be an Alpha group at the same time that the students will be learning through Alpha. Following the conclusion of Alpha, there will be several guest speakers on parenting issues like internet safety, drug use, etc.

Book of John: For God So Loved The World
January 20—March 31, 9:30—11:30 a.m.
The Nelson Impact Bible Study series will introduce in-depth Bible study to Christian laypeople. Each book will help readers experience the true meaning of the messages in the book of John, and in turn, empower the reader to truly make a difference in the world for Christ. The messages will be thorough but easily understood and will be complimented by application questions to guide the readers into a deeper relationship with the Bible that will impact their lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Discerning The Voice of God
January 13—February 17, 9:15 a.m.—11:30 a.m.
Having a hard time knowing what God is saying versus what others are saying? This Bible study by Pricilla Shirer is designed to help participants know the voice of God: his language, character and tone of voice. By growing closer to God through his Word, participants will be able to discern God’s voice from the voice of strangers. The study book contains about 30 minutes of personal study for five days each week.

Jesus: The One and Only
January 14—March 25, 9:15—11:15 a.m.
Come along with Beth Moore on a life-changing journey that will lead you through the hills of Galilee with the Teacher, across the lake with the Master, and finally, on the road toward the cross with the Savior. Get to know Jesus intimately...as though you had walked with Him during His days of earthly ministry. This 11-week study includes personal assignments and weekly group sessions during which you will view Beth's video sessions taped on location in Jerusalem and throughout Israel.

Systematic Training For Effective Parenting (STEP)
February 18—March 25, 6:30—8:30 p.m.
As a parent you want a calm, happy family environment. It takes a blend of love, discipline, and lots of understanding. The six Early Childhood STEP sessions focus on these topics:
- Understanding young children
- Understanding young children’s behavior
- Building self-esteem in the early years
- Listening and talking to young children & helping them learn to cooperate
- Discipline for young children
- Young children’s emotional and social development.
