Oswego New Faith Community
Over the Summer of 2020, the Wheatland congregation came together for a series of conversations to prayerfully discern and set a path forward for our church. This process overwhelmingly approved Wheatland Salem Church's release of the Oswego Campus back to the Northern Illinois Conference for the purpose of chartering a new and separate church. Although there will be mixed feelings with letting go of areas we have known, this truly is an exciting time to be a part of the Oswego community.
With an anticipated launch date of January 1st (2021), Pastor Corey Ashley will be working alongside Oswego leaders to help our community discover its new identity and lay a solid foundation for its growth. That is something which cannot happen without you! Here is how you can start: Begin to earnestly pray for our church, while also asking God to reveal where He is inviting you to join in His work of building the Church through your time, talents, gifts, resources, and care. You can expect more details and invites on how you can join in that work in the weeks to come.
With the anticipation of being a new and separate church, you can request to have your membership transferred from Wheatland Salem Church to the New Oswego Faith Community. Your new membership status will take effect January 1st, 2021. CLICK HERE to complete your membership transfer request.
This next season of life will be one in which we create and establish a new distinct way of accomplishing, funding, and carrying out our ministry, outreach, and missional work. Prayer and discernment are key as we trust God's invitation to fresh and exciting ways of being the church in our surrounding community and world. Ask God where he is inviting you to offer your time, talent, skills, and resources to make that possible. CLICK HERE to make your 2021 Financial Pledge for the new Oswego Faith Community.
Be diligent when asking God what He wants for you as you step out in faith and take ownership of what it means to be part of his church.
