Joseph: Discover Greater Purpose (January 5 - 26)

Flaws in the formative stages of our lives—even small ones—can lead to disaster unless there is an intervention that provides a better, more redemptively healthy way to not only deal with past hurts, hang ups and habits but provide a positive pathway towards transformation and healing for the future. Each generation can seem to add one more link in a growing chain of pain that seems unbreakable unless someone recognizes what’s wrong, takes responsibility to deliberately reject the examples played out before his or her eyes and chooses to follow the ways of the Lord. It is hard to live for God and do what is right in a dysfunctional family. But it’s not impossible, as the focus of our study of Joseph makes triumphantly clear. Take a journey with us that will continue in the weeks to come, tracing the ups and downs of a man who was born to a very difficult family, but stands forth in the Old Testament as one of the most consistently godly men in all the Bible. His name is Joseph, and his story occupies Genesis 37-50.
