Outdoor Worship | July 26 | 9:00 a.m.
Oswego Outdoor Worship:
Grab your mask and bring your camping chair as you join us at 9:00am on July 26th at the Oswego Campus for a worship service which will include communion, preaching, and many of the things we love to experience together as a community. Click here for the Order of Worship.
Our service will be held behind the Oswego Campus with sections marked off for groups who are living together to sit at a safe distance from other congregants. We recommend you arrive earlier to get seated in time. Parking will be at the front of the campus with overflow parking at the gravel lot across the street. An usher will help point you in the right direction!
The type of communion elements we suggest and offer:
1. You can bring your own elements--bread and cup (grape juice). (Highly recommended)
2. A gluten-free option will be available if needed.
3. Prepackaged communion elements will also be available when you arrive.
In case you are unable to join us or are an at-risk member, we encourage you to watch the service via Zoom as we livestream the event. Livestream Zoom will also serve as our backup method of attending in case of inclement weather. You can request the Zoom link at corey_ashley@wheatlandsalem.org.
We value YOU and care for your safety while ensuring our community continues to be welcoming and inviting.
We are monitoring input from national, state, and local officials, the Northern Illinois Conference, as well as internal and external subject-matter experts from a wide variety of perspectives to make the wisest possible decisions regarding plans and timing for returning from the Covid-19 shelter in place. Our hope in safely returning is that we work together to love our neighbor and enjoy the awesome, God-honoring, worship and community you have come to know and love.
Below is a quick summary of expectations for gathering at the Oswego Campus Outdoor Worship Services. Please refer to the CDC and Illinois Department of Health guidelines for further information and a complete guide to gathering.
